Farrah Fawcett on the cover of Cars of the Stars
Since the 1960s, George Barris has been one of
the world's most famous car customizers,
creating countless one-of-a-kind custom rides
out of his North Hollywood shop. Given Barris'
proximity to Tinseltown, it was only natural
that when the world's most famous Hollywood
celebrities wanted to have their cars
customized, they turned to George. "Barris Cars
of the Stars" features rare images of Barris
with his celebrity clients and the custom cars
he built for them, along with commentary and
stories from the "King of Kustomizers" himself.
Featuring Farrah Fawcett on the cover and many
photos inside, other celebrities include such
luminaries as Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, John
Travolta, Sammy Davis Jr., Bo Derek, Ann-Margret,
Neil Diamond, the Beach Boys, and many others.

Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson together on Shear Genius
How cool is this? Sabrina and
Kelly back together again...
There will be another rare reunion of the original stars
of "Charlie's Angels" when Kate
Jackson appears on the episode of Shear Genius "Hair
From Heaven"
on July 30, 10pm est/pst.
These "Angels" have had famous heads of hair for more
than 30 years so this is the perfect show for them to
appear on and marks their first time together on
television since a heart-warming reunion on the Emmys
two years ago during a tribute to Aaron Spelling. It was
shortly after rare joint appearance that that we learned
Farrah had been diagnosed with cancer. Here is a
mini interview with Shear Genius host Jaclyn Smith
from TV Guide.
TV Guide: How are this season's stylists?
Jaclyn Smith: [It's] such a variety of characters
and eccentricities. They're very aware of what they need
to do to grab the audience and judges. And it's a very
cohesive, compatible group . . . they were all sort of
rooting for each other.
TV Guide: I hear
Kate Jackson pops up on Shear. True?
Smith:
It's really fabulous. It's a Charlie's Angels
challenge, which was sort of difficult because we were
right there . . . It could have been intimidating for
the stylists.
TV Guide: How is Farrah doing?
Smith:
She's doing great, holding her own. She's a very strong
person.
TV Guide: Will we ever see the three of you together
again?
Smith: I wouldn't say never. We'll probably do
[something]. I wasn't really for it, but then we did the
Emmys together and it really was fun. It could be
interesting if we do it the right way.
TV Guide: Any actresses who give you hair envy?
Smith: All the girls on Friends! [Laughs] I
watch the reruns and their hair is amazing! They never
have a bad hair day.
TV Guide: Any whose hair you fear?
Smith: [ Laughs] I'm a Southern girl. We
don't talk about that!

According to
TV
Guide on July 30, 2008 Kate Jackson's appearance
on Shear Genius episode "Hair From Heaven" will be
airing.
Kate Jackson, host Jaclyn Smith's costar
in the series "Charlie's Angels," appears as a guest
judge when the hairstylists must reinvent notable looks
from that '70s show.
Before that, however, the contestants must work with
hair color

Courageous Farrah Fawcett Battles
Cancer
Despite Farrah Fawcett's best efforts to
leave unnoticed for a trip to Germany
last week, the actress nonetheless came
face-to-face with the paparazzi at the
airport. While sources tell "The
Insider" the trip was always planned, it
simply had not been disclosed to the
media. Farrah had decided to travel on
Thanksgiving in hopes of flying under
the radar. As far as Farrah's health is
concerned, the actress, despite tabloid
reports, has not had a cancer relapse
since she has yet to enter remission.
Furthermore, our sources insist that
"Farrah will not be manipulated into
denying untrue reports by the tabloids
in order for them to eventually make her
reveal the truth through process of
elimination. She will share her story
with the world when she has enough
distance and hindsight to do so. In the
meantime, she is documenting her entire
journey for a documentary which she
believes will inspire, educate and
ultimately save lives."
Meanwhile, Farrah is planning on
spending Christmas with her father and
son, and New Year's with Ryan O'Neal and
friends. For more information visit
The Insider.

Shelley Hack on Oprah Winfrey Show
Shelley Hack appeared on Oprah on
Wednesday January 23, 2008 to talk about
the Charlie perfume TV Commercials. In
the '70s, Revlon cast all-American
beauty Shelley Hack in advertisements
for Charlie perfume. In the short
television spot, the "Charlie girl"
glides through an evening out with class
and confidence. Oprah says this ad
defined the woman she dreamed of
becoming. "I wanted to stride like her
with confidence. I wanted to be this
fabulous," Oprah says. For almost a
year, Oprah's been asking her staff to
track down the original footage…and they
finally found it!
As an added bonus, Shelley came all the
way to Chicago to discuss her days as a
glamorous spokeswoman. What started as a
commercial became so much more to many
women. "It was a time when women were
changing," Shelley says. "Women looked
at [the ad] and said, 'I want to be like
that.'" After appearing in Revlon
commercials, Shelley got her big break
on Charlie's Angels. "I was lucky," she
says. "There were two things I was in
that were about making women feel a
little more empowered." |

Rushes to Farrah's Side
Jaclyn Smith has rushed to the side of
her friend Farrah Fawcett, following the
blonde actress' diagnosis of cancer of the intestine.
Smith, who has successfully battled breast cancer, is
regularly in touch with Fawcett, who confirmed she had
the disease.
Smith says, "She's great, and she's going to be fine. In
fact, she made me laugh. She is handling this like she
handles everything else in her life, with strength and
courage and a positive attitude. She said, 'I'm coming
to your house every night.' Because I eat very healthy.
She's right down the street, so she'll come, and we'll
just stay healthy together." |

Lucy Liu wants to make a third
‘Charlie’s Angels’ film.
Lucy admits she would jump at the chance
to reprise her role as Alex Munday so
she could work alongside Cameron Diaz
and Drew Barrymore again. She said: "I
have no idea what's going to happen with
a third ‘Charlie’s Angels’ film. I can't
tell you how many people have asked me
about it and it would be incredible to
do it again. But I’m not the one who
makes the decisions unfortunately. I'm a
yes though." Although Lucy has no say on
a third installment, Drew could be
involved in the decision making process
as she was a producer on both the first
movie and ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full
Throttle’. The two films raked in over
$500 million worldwide combined. Lucy
recently appeared in two episodes of hit
US comedy ‘Ugly Betty’, and has starred
in a host of action films including
‘Domino’ and ‘Kill Bill’.

Farrah receives the Spirit of
Entertainment Award
November
18, 2007 was the night to be at the
Beverly Hilton for the Associates for
Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies
(ABCs) 18th Annual Gala. The ABC's most
extraordinary evening takes place each
November when the organization
recognizes individuals who have made a
difference in the fight against cancer.
A glittering black-tie event held at the
Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills,
the party attracts more than 800 guests
as well as major media attention. With
Diana Ross as the special guest star,
the organizers looked to the diva’s
repertoire for creative inspiration —
and excerpted the title of Miss Ross’
chart-topping 1960s hit for their event
theme, “In the Name of Love.” Hosted by
“Dancing with the Stars’” judge Carrie
Ann Inaba, the evening kicked off with a
silent auction to raise funds in support
of breast and cancer research at JWCI.

The International Ballroom, elegantly
styled in red and black, was soon filled
to overflowing with a sellout crowd of
over 800 guests. Gala honorees included
Sue and Hal Taines, who received the
Spirit of Hope Award, and actress
Farrah Fawcett, who was awarded the
Spirit of Entertainment. Farrah, who is
currently battling cancer herself, was
unable to appear. Fawcett’s fellow
Charlie’s Angels star Kate Jackson
accepted the award on her behalf. Kate
made an impassioned speech about
Farrah's determination to fight this
dread disease. "Just kick this sucker so
that we can reclaim this brand! Come on,
we gotta get moving again!" Jackson
said. |
